our local vet runs a puppy class every Wednesday evening. Nella has been taking Luna there for the last two weeks as i am in work i am unable to go. Luna is having a great time meeting all the other puppy's, it is a great opportunity to socialise her at a young age. The classes are really good, they give out a lot of great advice and every week you get a treat for turning up. So far the vet has given Luna Science Plan puppy food and a cool little device for holding her toilet bags. Surprisingly Luna is not the biggest puppy at the group, there is a deer hound who has become her best friend. So i thought i would leave you with some pics of the group.
Hi! Just found your blog whilst searching for pics of Saarloos dogs. Our dog, Star, was a rescue dog from the US who moved with me to London in 2009. Although I was always told she's a German shepherd mix or a Carolina dog, I've had lots of people here in the UK say they think she looks like a Saarloos dog. Upon seeing the pics of them, I definitely agree.
ReplyDeleteStar had a difficult life before she came to us (abuse, multiple re-homing, etc.). I just thought I'd send a quick note to re-emphasise the importance of socialisation. Since being in the UK, Star has become much (!) more relaxed and happy. That said, she's still very protective of us -- and a small circle of our friends that she now trusts. Not that she'd ever bite, I'm sure; she's just uber-barky.
Anywho, I hope you post more pics and let us know how Luna is doing! I suspect she looks quite a bit different now that she's an adult! :) Best of luck in raising her!
